Domus & Chester Addison

Neighbor-to-Neighbor

Social Justice: Local

At Trinity Church we value God’s call on our lives to care for His creation and identify with the poor and oppressed in our midst and around the world.

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice and
untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”
Isaiah 58: 6-7

Trinity is committed to active and extensive involvement in the community in which we live and work.  Jesus calls us to "go" and serve those in need, and we believe that we should be willing to go where the need is the greatest.

Why Domus/Chester Addison Community Center & Neighbor-to-Neighbor?

We believe outreach that is relationship-based is key to effective ministry, as we are connecting people to people, and not simply institutions.  Domus/Chester Addison and Neighbor-to-Neighbor offer such opportunity.  In addition, several individuals from our church community are involved with each of these organizations, which will enable us to build upon an already existing foundation.

We hope that by visiting and working with these organizations on a regular basis we can build a bridge of authentic friendship. We seek to be a tangible expression of true Christian community by sharing in their struggles and identifying with their pain, while at the same time working shoulder to shoulder with our friends to restore dignity and hope.
